Project Engineer Aveva OSI PI

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced OSI PI Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in OSIsoft PI System, including PI Server, PI Asset Framework (AF), and PI Data Archive. This role requires a combination of technical skills, industry knowledge, and problem-solving abilities to manage, develop, and optimize OSI PI solutions within an industrial environment.

Role & Responsibilities:

PI System Management:

·       Administer, maintain, and support the OSI PI infrastructure, including PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework (AF), PI Interfaces, and PI Vision.

·       Monitor and ensure the reliability and performance of the PI System, troubleshooting and resolving any issues.

·       Manage data security, user permissions, and access control within the PI System.

Data Integration and Configuration:

·       Develop and configure PI Interfaces, PI Connectors, and other data integration solutions to collect and store real-time data from various sources.

·       Implement and optimize PI Asset Framework (AF) models to enhance data organization, context, and usability.

Data Analysis and Visualization:

·       Utilize PI Vision, PI ProcessBook, or other visualization tools to create intuitive dashboards, reports, and real-time displays.

·       Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide actionable insights through data analysis.

Project Management and Implementation:

·       Lead or participate in projects involving the deployment or upgrade of OSI PI systems.

·       Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of PI-based solutions.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

·       Provide technical support for end-users, addressing issues related to data access, visualization, and system performance.

·       Troubleshoot and resolve data flow issues, system errors, and other operational problems.

Documentation and Training:

·       Maintain comprehensive documentation of the PI System architecture, configurations, and procedures.

·       Provide training and support to users and other team members on PI System usage and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science) or a related technical field.
  • 2-4 years of experience working with OSIsoft PI System, including experience with PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework (AF), and PI Vision.
  • Strong understanding of industrial automation systems and real-time data analysis.
  • Proficiency in SQL and basic scripting languages (e.g., PI AF SDK, Python) is advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willing to travel onsite internationally for atleast 4-5 months yearly.
